Benjamin Moore- Aura Newburg Green Chest

Cassies-Painted-ChestPaint colors truly can transform a piece of furniture like nothing else. Just by using period colors, you can have replicate a historical look. My friend Cassie who owns Primitive & Proper in Virginia restores vintage and antique furniture with paint and distressing.

Take a look at this lovely dresser which she painted in a Benjamin Moore color called Aura Newburg Green. The chest was distressed and antiqued with Minwax Golden Oak stain. She did a lovely job! Adding some brown glaze, or dark stain like walnut or Golden Oak can give your piece of furniture the authentic look of years of dirt and wear that only hundreds of years could bring.
